French Elle Magazine

  

Joanna is delighted to be able to say that some of her Jewellery has been featured in the 6 March issue of French Elle Magazine.

The very stunning photographs were shot in Marrakech by legendary French photographer, Jean-Baptiste Mondino.

Joanna is espeacially well known for her beautiful knecklace designs and she particularly enjoys designing around the idea of knots and pendants, such as her Kenza Knecklace.

All the jewellery for the Elle shoot came from her collection in the boutique of the  Jardin Majorelle  in Marrakech.

Couleurs Maroc Jan/Feb 2014

Joanna was delighted when Couleurs Maroc asked her to lend them some jewellery for their fashion pages in the January / February issue of the magazine.

The photography was by the fabulously talented Hind Chaouat and the stunning model is Souhaila Ennajar.  The photos were taken at the very famous and chic Riad El Fenn, that recently featured in the Guardian Weekend Magazine.

In the lefthand photo Souhaila is wearing the beautiful new silver tassel Kenza Necklace made from Ethiopian style rings and Mauratanian pendant beads and hearts.  On her wrist she has one of Joanna's signature leather and silver bracelets.

On the right Souhaila is wearing gold plated versions of the Malika bracelet and earings with Swarovski crystal beads.

Riad el Fenn does not sell Joanna's jewellery but the nearby Maison Arabe and Villa des Orangers both stock Joanna's creations.  Otherwise you can visit the Joanna Bristow Jewellery website to see more of her designs.

American Craft Magazine

Maryam Montague  has written an article, "Modern Marrakech Express" in the August/September edition of American Craft Magazine, published by the American Craft Council.

Maryam's article is about contemporary designers using Morocco's long tradition of handicrafts to create new and exciting products and designs.  Joanna Bristow is one of two designers Montague calls "standout Jewelers" who "shine especially bright on the Marrakech scene".

Praise indeed from some one in the know.  Maryam Montague is not only author of an award winning blog but is also author of the beautiful design book "Marrakesh by Design" published by Barnes and Noble.

Exhibition at 4 Seasons II

Here some photos from Joanna's jewellery exhibition the Private Room Cocktail Bar on the first floor of the Pavillon Bleu d'Orange at the 4 Season's Hotel and Resort here in Marrakech.

The show is on until 13 April so you still have a couple nights if haven't already visited it!

4 Seasons Marrakech

Joanna Bristow is exhibiting a selection of Jewellery in the Private Room on the first floor of the Stunning Pavilion Bleu d'Orange at the 4 Seasons Resort in Marrakech until 14th April.

The exhibits include some new and unique designs, featuring Root of Sapphire bead necklaces and bracelets as well as rings and earings.

Unique Sapphire Necklace

The simple, elegant design consists of three strands of dark blue sapphire and gold plated Moroccan silver beads made specially for Joanna.  The piece measures 45.5 cms long and weighs 37 grams.

Joanna's Jewellery is featured in the new May edition of Food and Wine Magazine on page 52 in their Marrakech city guide section and on their website below.  The featured blue Murano glass necklace is one of a limited edition series that is now sold out.  However you can visit the website to see other beautiful designs that are still available.
